Washo

I call this wonderful meal Washo, you might call it asopado, or arroz awado. My daughter call it rice soup. What ever it is you call it, it is a great tasting meal. This is a soupy kind of rice with pork, potatoes, chunks of carrots and the distinct taste of cilantro. Yummy!

Serving Size: 4-6
Preparation time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:
2 lbs pork neck bone
Adobo
Complete seasoning
Garlic powder
½ or 1 small red pepper diced
½ or 1 small onion diced
3 coves of garlic minced
20 cup of water
1 ½ cup of rice
2 medium size potatoes cut in wedges
2 medium carrots cut in ½ inch
3 packages of sazon
Couple of strands of cilantro

Directions:
Place the pork on a large cooking pot seasoning it by sprinkling adobo, complete seasoning, and garlic powder. Place red pepper, onion, and the cloves of garlic in with the pork. Then pour the water in the cooking pot on medium heat and cover. For 45 minutes or until the neck bones are soft.

Once the pork is ready place the rice, potatoes carrots, sazon and cilantro on the top of the pork. With a large spoon mix everything in. Cover again, keep on heat for 30 minutes or until the rice is ready remember if the water has consumed put some more water and some more seasoning to taste.

Tips:
This dish is wonderful with boil yellow plantains.
